A world of cities, and many worlds within each city. In this trans-disciplinary course, students will learn about the unique challenges of collective existence in the increasingly urbanized fabric of the globe. Drawing on a range of critical social science scholarship, supplemented by film and literature, the course explores themes such as social justice, global economic relations, sustainability, communication, citizenship, security and political agency. Prerequisites Honours standing in Global Studies and at least 1.0 credit in 300 level GS courses, or permission of the instructor.
