FR334 – Self and Other – 0.5 Credit

In this course, participants will study a selection of 19th-century literary texts that present the relation between the self and the other. In our analyses of the texts, we will pay attention to both form and content, seeking to determine both what the texts mean and how they convey their meanings. Subjects addressed include love, desire, passion, jealousy, forgiveness, revenge and the literary enterprise itself. Prerequisites FR234 or permission of the department.
