HS344 – Health and Gender – 0.5 Credit

This course will explore the gendered nature of health and illness by examining how the construction of masculinity and femininity contribute to different experiences of health, illness and the healthcare system. The course will cover a range of health-related issues for which gender has been of special importance. Topics may include: mental health, reproductive health, sexual health and sexuality, occupational health and work, and health policy. Prerequisites HS200. Exclusions JN344.
