AN324 – Symbolic Systems and Ideologies – 0.5 Credit

The anthropological study of the creation and embodiment of meaning in everyday life. Topics will include symbolic, semiotic, feminist, Marxist, deconstructive, structural, poststructural, and psychoanalytic approaches to cross-cultural ethnographic interpretation. Prerequisites AN200 or AN202; registration in Honours Anthropology programs only. Notes 3 lecture hours
