AN464 – Cultures of the Modern Imaginary – 0.5 Credit

This course examines cross-culturally the impact of the dream and desire to be modern. It begins with a critical examination of the effect of modernist thought on social and cultural theory. It then examines how attempts to achieve the modern have shaped colonial mentalities, development thinking, attitudes to nature, and social marginalization. Prerequisites AN200 and AN202.
