SY334 – Sociology of Gender – 0.5 Credit

A study of the social production of femininity and masculinity. Various explanations of sexual difference, from biological to sex-role theory, will be examined critically. Recent contributions to the sociology of gender, including proposals for altering current gender relationships, will be considered. Prerequisites SY210 (or SY204*). Exclusions SY234.
