PS282 – Community Psychology – 0.5 Credit

An introduction to both a conceptual and an experiential understanding of issues and topics in community psychology. Topics include: the history of community psychology; stress and social support; oppression and social intervention; primary prevention and health promotion; self-help; mediating structures; community mental health; alternative settings; organizational change; community organization and community development. (A community service learning/field placement is required.) Prerequisites PS100 or both PS101 and PS102. Exclusions PS223, PS233*.
