This course examines political and social change in Mexico from the Mexican Revolution of 1910 to the 2006 contested presidential election. Attention is paid to how Mexican political changes are mediated by resistance strategies and social movement activism. In analyzing these events, students will be asked to pay particular attention to such factors as ethnicity, class and gender.
