MA241 – Statistical Methods for the Life Sciences – 0.5 Credit

Data reduction methods; discrete and continuous random variables; hypothesis testing and confidence intervals; linear regression and linear models, analysis of variance and correlation methods. Introduction to experimental design. Problems drawn primarily from biology and related sciences are used to illustrate the concepts, and are analyzed with the aid of an appropriate software package. Prerequisites One of MA101, MA103, MA105, MA110. Exclusions MA141, MA240, PS296. Notes 3 lecture hours, 1.5 lab hours
