Numerical and graphical methods of descriptive statistics; basic probability; introduction to discrete and continuous random variables; sampling distributions; estimation and hypothesis testing for data from one and two normal populations. Applications to problems in science are emphasized and statistical software packages are used for data analysis. Exclusions MA240, MA241, BU205/EC205, BU255/EC255, EC235, EC285, KP262; all Honours Business, Honours Economics and Honours Mathematics programs.
