The varied epistemologies in qualitative research will be introduced in this course, providing students with a broad understanding of interpretive methods in the field of Kinesiology & Physical Education. The principles of qualitative research design will be discussed, and students will be trained in the areas of organizing, interpreting, and presenting qualitative findings. Students will have an opportunity to critically reflect upon each of the stages of qualitative research design, and will engage in guided activities to further elucidate the meaning of this process. These course objectives will be accomplished through instructor-led/student-led discussion, lecture content, readings and assignments. Prerequisites KP261, KP262.
