HS330 – Disasters and Public Health – 0.5 Credit

This course takes public health disasters as its main focus, and explores how these disasters both illuminate and alter existing social structures and cultural narratives. In other words, what do public health disasters and disaster management strategies tell us about ourselves socially and culturally? Topics may include bioterrorism, environmental catastrophes, AIDS, pandemics and the psychosocial impacts of disasters. Prerequisites HS200 and CT203/HS203. Exclusions CT329. Notes 3 lecture hours
