HS200 – Social Determinants of Health – 0.5 Credit

This course is an introduction to the study of health and illness, and the social determinants of health. What is health and what does it mean to be sick? How do social and cultural factors influence ideas about "health" and "sickness"? Topics may include: individual and population health, gender, health and the environment, the social construction of health and illness, and cross-cultural ideas of health. Prerequisites CT122. Notes 3 lecture hours
