This seminar examines Chinese history since the beginning of the 20th century by looking at the political, economic, social and cultural revolutions that have affected modern China, from the 1911 Revolution to the creation and development of the People’s Republic of China (mainland China) and the Chinese Republic (Taiwan), founded in 1949. {G} {S} Prerequisites HI418.
