HI323 – Social History of the Industrial Revolution in Britain, 1780-1850 – 0.5 Credit

An examination of the origins, character and consequences of the transformation of British society between 1780 and 1850. The course will pay particular attention to the relationship between industrial change and new patterns of living including new forms of work and leisure, alterations in family structure and sex roles and developments in popular ideology, political protest and reform. {E} {S}
