EN267 – Contemporary Canadian Fiction – 0.5 Credit

A survey of Canadian fiction written in English from 1980 to the present. The course explores the concept of a national literature in Canada since the publishing boom of the 1980s, with an emphasis on the social shifts presented by feminist, postcolonial and transnational literary works. Texts will include novels and short stories by authors such as Michael Ondaatje, Thomas King, Margaret Atwood and Alice Munro, among others. Exclusions EN217.
