BU420 – Retirement and Estate Planning – 0.5 Credit

A study in the area of retirement planning, retirement benefits and estate planning, which includes an examination of the advantages of tax sheltered accumulation vehicles, different investment options and the integration of personal programs with government and employer sponsored programs. The estate planning section of the course will assist students in understanding the various elements of estate planning for Canadians. It will include an examination and discussion of practical estate planning tools and techniques. The course explores goal setting strategies, income taxation, estate taxation and many facets of corporate, family and trust law. Co-requisites or Prerequisites BU413. Exclusions BU493k and BU493m.
