BI256 – Life on Earth: Animals – 0.5 Credit

An integrated lecture and lab/tutorial-based course examining the diversity of animal life. The relationships of animal form and function are emphasized in terms of the solutions that have arisen through natural selection. Major topics to be covered include skeletal systems and locomotion, respiration, circulation, feeding and digestion, water and salt balance, thermoregulation, sensory and nervous systems, and reproduction. Prerequisites BI111 (or BI100*). Exclusions BI253, BI283. Notes 3 Lecture hours, 3 lab/tutorial/seminar hours
